Websoft9 VtigerCRM is a pre-configured, ready to run image for running VtigerCRM on Alibaba Cloud.

VtigerCRM is an opensource CRM system that helps you create and automate a better customer journey.Vtiger CRM enables sales, support, and marketing teams to organize and collaborate to measurably improve customer experiences and business outcomes. Vtiger CRM also includes email, inventory, project management, and other tools, providing a complete the business management suite.

Software Version: VtigerCRM 6.5.0
Software directory: /data/wwwroot/default/vtigercrm

Basic software environment: LAMP
PHP Configuration File: /usr/local/php/etc/php.ini
Virtual host Configuration File directory: /usr/local/apache/conf/
Virtual host Configuration Command: /root/oneinstack/vhost

Database install directory: /usr/local/mysql
Database data directory: /data/mysql
Database Configuration File: /etc/my.cnf

After the installation of Image,please verify it

  • Login on Alibaba Cloud console,get you Internet IP Address
  • Open you Chrome or Firefox on your local PC,visit the http://Internet IP Address/
  • If verify successfully,you can enter the boot page of Websoft9 below
  • If no response from browser,please check the Security Group settings to ensure that port 80 is been allowed

This Image use MySQL for database

It is recommended to complete two steps before the the installation:

  • Domain resolution if you want to use domain for this application (Add an A record to the Internet IP Address of Server from Domain Control Panel)
  • Modify the MySQL password of root through http://Internet IP Address/phpmyadmin

1. Click “Install”;

2. Click “I Agree”;

3. Click “Next”;

4. Fill in Database Information(usename is root,password is 123456,database is vtigercrm),Set Admin User Information, Click “Next”;

5. Click “Next”;

6. Select your Industry, Click “Next”;

7. Select All, Click “Next”;

8.OK, it has been installed successfully.

Use http://<domain name>/  to go to your index page.

Vtiger consists of various area, called Modules, which contain the tools necessary for Sales, Support, Marketing, Project Management, Calendar and Activity Management, and more.To create a more focused experiences while using Vtiger, it’s advised that you hide the modules that your company doesn’t use. This can be done by enabling or disabling them from here.


Configuring Modules

The key preferences with respect to the modules can be configured right from here. Settings that can be configured in Module Manager are illustrated below.

Deactivating Module(s)

Module Manager displays the list of all modules available in your Vtiger CRM account. You can disable the modules that doesn’t meet your business requirements by unchecking the checkboxes beside them. Unlike Profiles, if modules are disabled in Module Manager, they will not be available for use for all users across your Vtiger CRM account. However, you can easily enable the modules to bring them back in action by clicking on the checkbox beside that module.

Follow few simple steps to enable or disable modules in Vtiger CRM

  1. Click “Menu” icon
  2. Click Settings
  3. Click Module Manager
  4. Check the checkbox to enable or Uncheck the checkbox next to specific field to disable it

Note! If you want to limit certain users from accessing the modules, you can use Profiles in the Users Management section under Settings

Importing Modules and Extensions

This feature enables you to import extensions, apps and modules that are compatible with Vtiger CRM.

Follow few simple steps to import an extension or module into Vtiger CRM

  1. In Modules detail view, click  “Extension Store”in the top right
  2. Click on Install button corresponding to module you’d like to import
  3. Click Accept and Install button (If you agree the terms of License).
  4. After successful installation, click Ok button.
  5. After installation, additional modules like vttwitter, vtmessages are found under All drop-down on Menu bar. MailChimp, WebformsConfigurationEditor, PDF Maker are found under Other Settings drop-down under Settings Page

Routine backup (archives) of the database and application setup is essential to ensure failover is can use Manual Backup as following steps:

  1. Download the entire VtigerCRM files in you root dictionary by FTP or other tools
  2. Visit http://< Internet IP Address >/phpMyAdmin,login in to the phpMyAdmin Panel
  3. Select you database,then Export
  4. Click “go” button,then download the SQL backup file

Keeping VtigerCRM up to date is important to make sure that your VtigerCRM is as safe and as awesome as possible.Please make sure to take backup of extisting setup-both database and source

How to Upgrade VtigerCRM?

  1. Downdload the Migration Software (e.g 6.5.0 to 7.0.1) from

  2. Ensure your server configuration meets the pre-requisites.
  3. Unzip into Vtiger CRM Folder.
    • and migrate folder will be unpacked.
  4. Through browser open /migrate path.
    • http://Internet IP Adress/vtigercrm/migrate

Note:Enable write-permission for the apache process owner for smooth migration.


  • Always download the latest migration patch pointed from our website.
  • Migration script execution is hungry on time and memory. Ensure your PHP configuration does not limit it.
  • Make sure you have configured error_reporting well. Wrong configuration can clog the log files.
  • Review – existing table Engine type to be in InnoDB – (expect sequential tables ending with _seq).

Websoft9 VtigerCRM Image have installed the phpMyadmin

phpMyAdmin install directory: /data/wwwroot/default/phpMyAdmin


Following is the step for access phpMyadmin

  1. Open Chrome or Firefox on your local PC
  2. visit the http://Internet IP Address/phpMyAdmin,you can enter the login page
  3. select you language,Username:root,Password:123456
  4. Click the button “Go”


Following is the step for access phpMyadmin

  1. User Remote Desktop Connection of Window to connect to you ECS
  2. Install a Chrome or Firefox browser on you ECS
  3. Open Chrome or Firefox on your ECS
  4. visit the http://localhost/phpMyAdmin,you can enter the login page
  5. select you language,Username:root,Password:123456
  6. Click the button “Go”

When install new extension from back-end it will not successful,may be the permissions of file and folder is not appropriate,you should change it

Web site root permissions to follow:
file 644, folder 755 ,Permissions Users and groups www
If there is a file permissions problem, execute the following three commands:

chown -R www.www /data/wwwroot/default/vtigercrm
find /data/wwwroot/default/vtigercrm -type d -exec chmod 755 {} \;
find /data/wwwroot/default/vtigercrm -type f -exec chmod 644 {} \;

Modify the  /usr/local/php/etc/php.ini file to increase the allowed size for uploads:

; Maximum size of POST data that PHP will accept.
post_max_size = 16M
; Maximum allowed size for uploaded files.
upload_max_filesize = 16M

then,restart the apache

# service httpd restart

The PHP configuration file allows you to configure the modules enabled, the email settings or the size of the upload files. It is located at /usr/local/php/etc/php.ini.

There are some PHP settings that need to be sufficient to install.

The values for PHP.ini below are suggested values only.

  • memory_limit – Minimum: 64M Recommended: 128M or better
  • upload_max_filesize – Minimum: 20M
  • post_max_size – Minimum: 20M
  • max_execution_time: At Least 120 Recommended: 300

After modifying the PHP configuration file, restart both Apache and PHP-FPM for the changes to take effect:

# service httpd restart


If you receive the message “Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded”.You may also like to extend the max_execution_time for PHP and you can modify it by two methods below

Method one: edit your  /usr/local/php/etc/php.ini

; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds
; Note: This directive is hardcoded to 0 for the CLI SAPI
max_execution_time = 90
; Maximum amount of time each script may spend parsing request data. It's a good
; idea to limit this time on productions servers in order to eliminate unexpectedly
; long running scripts.

Method two: edit your .htaccess:

You can localize your Vtiger CRM by selecting desired language from My Preferences. Vtiger CRM default package is available in 13 different languages — no language pack installation is required.

Follow few simple steps to personalize your Vtiger CRM with desired language

  1. Click on your user name in the top right corner
  2. Click My Preferences
  3. Click Edit
  4. In More Information block, click Language drop-down, and select desired language
  5. Click Save

Vtiger CRM gives you the flexibility to export all your CRM data. Two different types of export options are supported in Vtiger CRM.

his feature enables you to export your records from individual modules in .csv format. You can prefer to export selected records, all records on the page, or all records in the module. For example : Leads, Contacts, Opportunities, etc

Follow few simple steps to export data in .csv file

  1. Click [Module] tab. For instance, Leads, Contacts, Opportunities, etc
  2. Click Actions > Export

  3. You’ll find the following options in Export Records page
Export selected records Click on the radio button to export records selected in [Module] list view
Export data in current page Click on the radio button to export all records that are on the current list view page
Export all data Click on the radio button to export all records in Contacts module

4. Click Export [Module] button


  1. Export option is not supported on Campaigns and Price Books modules
  2. We will recommend you to use Reports module to export Invoices, Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, Quotes and Calendar records
