MongoDB Compass is The GUI for MongoDB, used for Database Management Tools . Compass is a free interactive tool for querying, optimizing, and analyzing your MongoDB data. Get key insights, drag and drop to build pipelines, and more.

Prepare​

When referring to this document to use MongoDB Compass, please read and ensure the following points:

  • This application is installed by Websoft9 console.

  • The purpose of this application complies with the SSPL-v1 open source license agreement.

  • Configure the domain name or server security group opens external network ports for application access.

Getting started​

Initial setup​

  1. When completed installation of MongoDB Compass at Websoft9 Console, get the applicaiton's Overview and Access information from My Apps.

  2. Input your username and password to login to the desktop.

  3. Click the MongoDB Compass icon on desktop to enter MongoDB Compass.

  4. Select New Connection > Advanced Connection Options, enter the connection information and the account.

    The URI method is not recommended, as it is limited by the string format.

  5. The connection is successful, enter the console.

Does Mongo Compass consume a lot of memory?​

Yes, Mongo Compass is not a true web application, it is built by Websoft9 based on a special container that contains the desktop.
